Canon Europe today announced the expansion of its cinema lens lineup with the widest-ever Cine-Servo lens. With a focal length of 11mm and an impressive 100-degree angle of view, the Canon CN5x11 IAS T R1/P1 offers a flexible solution for both tight studio settings and dynamic live action where capturing the subject and surroundings is crucial. The new lens is available in RF or PL mounts. It features the latest e-Xs V Digital Drive Unit, providing exceptional control precision and functionality.

Weighing approximately 3 kg, the CN5x11 IAS T R1/P1 is the lightest lens in Canon's Cine-Servo line. It is ideal for use with gimbals, camera cranes, robotic systems, and line cameras. Camera operators working with the camera on a shoulder will also appreciate its reduced weight.

"Thanks to its versatility and balanced design, the CN5x11 IAS T R1/P1 super wide-angle 8K Cine-Servo lens offers exceptional sharpness and edge-to-edge image quality, while also offering the mobility required by broadcast professionals," emphasizes Mark Fensome, Product Marketing Specialist at Canon Europe. "The built-in 1.5x extender makes the lens incredibly versatile: it extends the focal length range when working with a Super 35mm camera, while also enabling compatibility with full-frame cameras. It provides a shallow depth of field, adding a more cinematic feel to live action, news footage, and high-budget documentaries and feature films."

Thanks to the detachable servo unit, the CN5x11 IAS T R1/P1 can be easily configured for sports and live event broadcasting, or for film production." This is the second Cine-Servo lens equipped with the latest generation Canon e-Xs V Digital Drive Unit, which offers more precise and ergonomic servo control, a faster and more responsive aperture, and USB-C connectivity.

The CN5x11 IAS T R1/P1 lens is available in RF or PL mount, further enhancing its versatility. The PL mount version supports Cooke /i Technology™ and ZEISS eXtended Data™, enabling real-time metadata transfer. The RF variant offers additional capabilities, such as Dual Pixel CMOS AF for fast and smooth autofocus and expanded data for lens correction.
