Conversion of existing tapes to Ultra HD

With large Ultra HD TVs now commonplace in consumers' homes, the demand for Ultra HD content is enormous. Over the last 100 years, studios have produced millions of hours of films that are stored in film vaults around the world. All 35mm film is 4K resolution, so converting older film libraries is a quick and affordable way to deliver Ultra HD content to consumers! The Cintel scanner will scan your 35mm film negative and positive to incredible Ultra HD quality, extracting additional resolution that no one has ever been able to see before! There's no easier way to generate feature films and TV shows in Ultra HD quality.

Advanced light source

The new Cintel Scanner G3 HDR+ features an all-new high-intensity light source and advanced colorimetry, ensuring incredibly sharp, high-quality images from film scans even at real-time speeds. The RGB LED grid illumination source is designed to work with the extremely sensitive image sensor and will ensure that your precious film is never exposed to unnecessary thermal stress and color fading effects that occur with traditional scanner lamps. Additionally, the new light source provides an additional 3.5 degrees of HDR! There's even a new film review mode that lets you see what the original looks like compared to the stunningly beautiful scans produced by the new light source.

Create stunning HDR images

35mm film has an extremely high dynamic range and native 4K resolution. The Cintel scanner has a 35mm aperture, with an optional 16mm gate available separately, for HDR scanning, so you can create high dynamic range digital masters with better colors, more textures and more detail than ever before! This makes it possible to meet the growing demand for 4K HDR content on streaming services such as Netflix, AppleTV, HULU and others. The Cintel scanner is designed to work with DaVinci Resolve Studio, which is included. In addition to advanced color correction, DaVinci Resolve Studio also has Revival tools for automatic dirt removal, dust removal, deflickering, speckle repair with smart fill technology, and advanced temporal and spatial noise reduction. Cintel Scanner with DaVinci Resolve Studio gives you everything you need to scan, color correct, restore and master your film library for Ultra HD, high dynamic range distribution!

The Cintel scanner is a real technological gem.

Historically, film processing was mainly based on mechanical technologies. Filmstrips suffered from low-quality electronics that required experienced engineers to remain usable. The Cintel scanner is designed with the latest Blackmagic Design imaging technology and features a PCIe connector as well as Thunderbolt 3. This means you can connect it to a Mac, Windows or Linux computer and scan your film directly into your color correction system. This makes setup and use very quick, and the process of slow file copying after scanning is eliminated. You get easy-to-install software updates that may add new features in the future. This also means you can upgrade your computer whenever you want.

Real-time scanning

The Cintel Scanner is the first real-time 4K film scanner to support Thunderbolt 3, so installation is a snap. A high-intensity scattered light source allows the Cintel scanner to operate at a constant speed in real time. The Thunderbolt 3 connection allows you to reach speeds of 40 Gbps, so you can transfer all your data directly to your computer without quality restrictions. You can even switch computers by simply unplugging a single Thunderbolt cable. Additionally, it has an external PCIe interface for connection to Windows and Linux computers that do not have a Thunderbolt 3 port. With the Cintel scanner, you get a high-resolution film strip scanner that is as easy to use as a traditional Telekino.

Maintenance-free connections

With a Thunderbolt 3 port and PCIe interfaces, the Cintel scanner is easy to install and configure. Simply connect your scanner to your Mac or Windows computer, install DaVinci Resolve Studio and start scanning! This means there is no need for a technician to operate the scanner. The Cintel scanner is designed to give you the freedom to use it with multiple devices and even connect to laptops so you can scan your footage directly into the computer you'll be working on. The HDMI output is compatible with Ultra HD TVs, allowing you to achieve perfectly accurate focus and adjustments to your footage using your local monitor. The Cintel scanner also has a bi-phase and timecode output connector for connecting external devices such as tape recorders and more! The HDMI signal can even be converted to SDI video using the Blackmagic HDMI to SDI 4K Mini Converter, making it the perfect solution for connecting to a computer and showing the video to your customers.

Audio and KeyKode Reader

The optional Audio and KeyKode Reader allows you to capture high-quality audio and KeyKode information from filmstrip. The reader includes a magnetic audio head and deep red LED illumination with advanced optics, electroformed apertures and precise mechanical adjustments for azimuth, zenith and yaw to give you the best possible audio capture with incredible frequency response. The reader also has a precision capstan and encoder that enables automatic wow and flutter correction, allowing you to accurately capture audio even as the scanner speed changes! KeyKode Reader enters unique ID numbers for each frame of your filmstrip, so they can be easily matched to the appropriate video timecode. Installation is simple and just screw the reader onto the front of the case and it will be automatically detected.
